Give thanks for my friends

It is always important to give thanks for all the blessings we have in our lives. I have a lot of things to be grateful but I have decided to focus on my friends. They are the ones who are always there for me and support me every step of the way. If we ever fought we can simply talk it out and continue with our friendship like noting ever happen. Together we are endued, dauntless and sometimes irksome but I still love them. I couldn't ask for better friends.

Giving thanks for pre-college

During my senior year, I have not felt grateful for anything that has happened. My friends and I are all suffering from a serious case of senioritis. I have not felt grateful for the gift of learning academics this year, Calculus, Spanish, Inorganic Chemistry and many other classes have made me suffer this year. I have felt grateful for the opportunity I had this past summer to visit The University of The Arts and enroll in their Pre-College Summer Institute. During this program I studied Animation and had the chance to visit New York and enjoy Catch Me If You Can in Broadway. My chamber (dorm) involved very crazy roommates and very little sleep, which led to lots of caffeine. This was a very rewarding experience I will never forget and I will always be grateful to Edgar (who gave me the program's brochure) and to my parents who supported me during this trip.

Analizing decision

Making decisions is hard, wouldn't it be nice if we had an assistant who helped us make decisions? In reality this could actually be a downfall, just think about this; what if your assistant hates your or your assistant is louzy at maiking decisions. This are downfalls of having an assistant also people will tend to rely on others instead of making there own mistakes and learning from them. Life may present us hard situations but we as people should learn how to overcome them in our own way.

Analyzing, Multi-Tasking

Multi-Tasking comes in handy to just about everyone under any circumstances. Today, we live under lots of stress causing anxieties which, for most people, could be resolved if you could get things done quickly. It has been proven that women can multi-task better than men, while some men can listen to music and study all at once, women can listen to music, study, watch tv and hold a conversation. It has also been proven that if you learn more than one language, like our fellow AP English peers, you are therefore more multi-task and your Alzheimer is held back 5 years. Having the ability of multi-tasking is a handy weapon with countless rewards.

Dexter Morgan

Dexter Morgan is the protagonist of the tv series Dexter. He is a bloodstain pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who is also a serial killer. When he was younger his mother was brutally murder in front of him which cause his mental condition. I see him as a night vigilantly since he only kills murders who have gotten away from justice and he has investigated and is 100% sure that they did the crime. When he is getting ready to kill he has a set of rules and ritual he must follow which are the ones which have keep him safe so many years. Thats why I like Dexter because he doesn't kill without the right reasons.

Amazon.

I just bough the new kindle fire. I am thrilled about the software, the easy access to books, magazines and some documents. Still, a tablet is not complete without applications. Out in the online market, we have applications for just about everything, planning, gaming, studying and even traveling. Amazon says that since Puerto Rico is not physically in the United States, we can't get apps. Their Terms of Use say different though and they're not accepting it. A friend of mine here in Puero Rico is happily downloading apps. Amazon is full of ignorants and I am inevitably annoyed.

Modern Age Babysiter

Parents this days have been growing lazier as time passes by. Now a days they use the tv as a babysitter while they do other stuff. Some parents even use a gaming console as a playstation or gameboy to distract even more their children. The reality is that they simply don't want to spend time with them as they are tired or are simply to lazy to actually care enough about them. In the end the ones getting hurt are the children as they then isolate themselves from other people and prefer to be alone than to spend time with others which turns into bigger problems as they get older. Even if technology can be use to help use we should still be careful and use it wisely.

Reasons why you should sleep

People shoul get the right amount of sleep every night (which is eight hours) in order for them to be the best they can be. Because when you don't get enough sleep you become tired easily. Other people tend to become cranky because they are not well rested. In most cases people get distracted easily due to the fact that they haven't sleeped the appropriate amount of time. These are just a few examples of what are the consequences if someone doesn't get a full nights rest. So in order to be able to give everything you've got first you have to rest so that you are all powered up and very exultant whenever it is you need to be powered up ansd so you are not insatiable.

Social networking websites

Social networking websites are a hot topic among today's teenagers. Usually, the most popular one is Facebook, it's purpose is stalking and sharing your life. There's twitter, in which you share your life with strangers in less than 140 characters. There used to be MySpace, but it turned into dust when Facebook got wildly popular. And last but not least, there's Tumblr which is a site for sharing your inner self through text, pictures and video (literature and art). They all have one key quality in common, it's all about sharing.

Cravings and Narnia

Have you ever woken up in morrow and craved some sort of food? You just need to have it, you need to incite so you can get what you want otherwise things might get ugly. "Well, how can we surcease this horrible problem?", you may ask. Easy just open the refrigerator and you're saved. But wait their is just one tiny problem, what your craving is not on your refrigerator. Total chaos, immense disaster, a super downer this causes a paralysis in your body. When this happens to me I always think to myself of those times of yore and I ask myself "why can't my refrigerator be like the closet from Narnia?" All filled with wonderful and magical food. That would be amazingly wonderful but the sad truth is, this is not possible. So we should suck it up, stop acting so caitiff and eat whatever we find in the moment, always giving thanks for at least having food.

Kindle Fire

The Kindle Fire is Amazon's recent way of saying 'Goodbye iPads!'. It might not a be 5 star quality like Apple's iPad but for the low price of just $199 it is a fair product. Featuring a dual-core processor and running Android applications, the only thing the Kindle Fire is missing is a camera and microphone. Other than that, the Kindle Fire has everything on entertainment. No one can wait to get their hands on it. This product sure is the iPad's worse nightmare.

Lest we all turn to squiggles...

There is a current topic among many many people who claim that young people don't appreciate art anymore, but I would like to offer my opinion in the matter.

Art, as we all know, is constantly evolving, and it has many, many branches. From the classical music to the famous Picasso, from ballet dancing to traditional folklore, but is that all there is to art? the people who argue that younger generations have lost their love for art claim that it's video games, television series and "music" (for some genres aren't considered as much as art mindless screaming), but, if the perspective is tweaked in a small manner, it would have momentous effects upon the perception of "young kids art."

Video games are my favorite example of how art has evolved in the last few decades. Truly, the first video games were mindlessly simple, but they have transcended their bytes and pixels and, dare I say, developed a heart. It is hard to play a good video game and not say it was an awesome experience, or to say that it had absolutely no effect upon the person. Some video games go as far as to outright surpass the television screen and emotionally affect the player. If this is not art, then the reaction caused by the Mona Lisa's amusing art cannot be considered anything more that a tidbit. As for television, endless hours are placed into producing a visual experience that will present different versions of reality. We will most likely never see a talking sponge nor glittering vampires in real life living their daily lives, but even a novelist (if novels are still an art form, that is) should agree that anything that navigates our minds unto different worlds has successfully accomplished the same task as story writers. In terms of music, at last, it's easy to see that variations are great from time to time and space to space, so much so that we have everything from Gregorian singing to pipeflutes, so why shouldn't a very well coordinated mix of technologically produced sounds, singing and instruments be considered art.

In short, art is not being lost nor is it disappearing, it is merely evolving, as it always does, so all those who fear artistic desolation should be put at peace. I empathize with you, but we will not revert and turn to squiggles.

Process of customizing an xbox

We as humans are always trying to make the stuff we own cooler or more personal. This need actually lead to the modification of xbox 360 cases. First one should define what logo or design we are aiming for not been banal and how difficult it is to perform. Then it is necessary to print out a copy of such design and trace it over the xbox case. Afterwards using a rotary tool one is suppose to cut out the case and then sand it down so it has a better finish. The perfect finish for this modification is the installation of the plexiglass which is going to permit to see into the xbox console and the light from the LEDs to shine out. In the end one is left with an awesome modification and you don't need to be astute but are left with a haughty feeling.

How to paint your nails step by step!

People seem to always or most of the time compliment my awesomly amazing nails. So I decided to help those in need and tell you guys step by step how to get envy worthy nails and they can become braggart who always has fabulous nails. So the first step is to clean any dirt you have on your nails and cut or file them if needed so that when you apply your nail polish yours nails will be nice, trimmed and clean. Then you have to ponder a little and choose any nail polish color of your desire. Afterward you apply a base coat so that the nail polish lasts longer. After applying the base coat you apply the color you choosed, wait for it to dry and apply a second coat. When they finish drying you will have yourself a pair of jaunty hands. This might be considered to be a long process for painting your nails a basic color but after you achive this milestone you might be able to create dauntless designs.

Process of buying concert tickets

Buying concert tickets is always a hazard. First you must define which seats are worth it depending on the artist. If you want floor seats, you will have to convince and manipulate your insensible parents into buying them. Second, you must know when to buy these tickets. Logically you'll buy them the first day, but sometimes there's pre sales for fan clubs or specific credit card holders, if not, improvise. And third, enjoy the concert! This is no easy task, you will have to choose seats, buy them and enjoy the concert. Skipping any of these steps is inevitable during this process.

Edgar Gaga :)

Edgar is known for being a "Lady Gaga Freak". He cherishes this women like it's nobodys business, he is always saying that she is exultant and the best pop artist of our generation. So I asked this amicable person why is it that he is so in love with Lady Gaga. He answered, her music is very contagious and it's not known for being reiterated, she is a reckless human being that promotes individuality and compared or measured to other artists she is a very talented musician.

Doctor Who?

Doctor Who? It is one of the best tv series ever. The show is about the Doctor who’s an alien species call timelords travels through time and space in his T.A.R.D.I.S. which is a time machine in search of adventures. During his different reincarnations he has always traveled with a human female friend which sometimes is joined by a humane male, her boyfriend. The Doctor travels through time and space to see history as it being made before his eyes and most of the time to save the day because something is changing the course of history. Some characteristics of the show is that the Tardis is actually bigger on the inside than how it looks on the outside making it capacious, also the doctor with every new series under goes a transformation that changes his physiognomy but he is still is deference, dauntless, has affability and is never impertinent. In the end time travel and the incorporation of history characters like Charles dickens, Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler makes it a fantastic show.

Animation

Animation is capacious of everything, it's about defying the laws of physics and everything thought before. It's about being endued and using fantastic elements. For some it is abstruse how animating takes forever. Impertinent people don't really understand how much time and effort it really takes. Animation is a process of expression, creativity and a wonderful way of entertainment.

Prom night and halloween

People might create a disputation over prom and halloween not beeing similar, it might be cantankerous for them to see their not all that different. One similarity to prom night and halloween night is that in both nights you get to dress up. When you go to prom you dress up for a formal dance. On the other hand when it's halloween you are the impersination of some character and put on a costume. People buy different halloween costumes every year since it must become trite to use the same costume each year, because it's a holiday and it happens once a year. While prom is not anually, but it is one night that won't come again. What people should savvy is that both events are ment for people to enjoy so we must be astute, make the most out of life and just live it.

Book vs Movie

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan is a New York Times Best Seller series. Everyone thought the movie would have the same success. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, directed by Chris Colombus, the movie was a straightforward disappointment to every teenager who had read the books. Compared to the book the movie was missing its essence, story line and mythological back round.

Book vs. e-reader

Our modern society has evolve to the level that we have different ways to read the same book. The original or traditional way was to buy a hard copy of the book but now there are e-readers. The e-reader in contrast to the book can have hundreds of books in a compact design which gives it practically no weight on the other hand you would have all those books taking space all around your apartment. We have to note that an e-reader will never give us that familiar sensation that is actually holding a book and turning the page to see what happens next in the story. The develop e-reader design use a special e-ink which doesn't strain the eyes like old lcd use to do so it acts just like a book in that aspect. Slowly the e-readers have started to dominate the market and will eventually replace books but books won't disappear and there will always be the ones that enjoy actually having a hard copy.

Cause-Effect

Bringing up controversial topics in a group discussion can be a bad
idea. Even when speaking hypothetically it still causes disputations.
Some people try to be evasive about the topics while others simply
become braggart about it. Others at actually astute and can lead the
conversation in a smart and mature matter. At the end of the conversation the ones who are savvy will understand others position in the topics matter and take it as a learning experience.

Borders

Borders has closed down each and everyone of their stores, leaving the Puerto Rico in chaos. For those who think Puerto Ricans don't enjoy reading this has been proven wrong during the past few weeks as they have lost their only accessible store to buy their books. The loss of this store created confusion and sadness between gothic teenager who used to hang out in the manga section in the store and between the men who played chess in the cafe. Not everyone will accept it but the loss of Borders has affected us all in one way or another.

Cause and Effect

Sometimes my mom is in a bad mood or simply just mad at me. The reason why this is, is cayse I find it innevitable to keep her happy all the time. She expects me to do things and I don't always follow through. She gets mad due to the immense mess in my room. She says that the reason for the mess is my negligence. Another thing is, she finds me completely annoying sometimes, but the reason why I'm all up in her business is because I don't want her to feel excluded in my life. I don't want her to reach some sort of a loneliness state, maybe sometimes I get on her nerves but she also gets on my nerves as well. In the end all that matters is that I love her with all my heart even though she may nag me.

Speaking with Angel Morales

Angel Morales was my grandfather which died a couple of years ago.

Me: Hi granddad its been a long time since we last spoke.

Angel: Hello my little helper. Yes its been quite some time now.

Me: Everyone misses you a lot.

Angel: I know that my lost was really hard on you all since it was really unexpected but at least right after I died Angel Jose was born. How is he?

Me: I wish you could be here with us so you could see how good he is. He is so loving and respectful that he even surpasses me when I was little.

Angel: Yeah I remember when you were little. You were always helping me and your dad with whatever you could. That’s how you got the nickname “El Ayudor” (Little Helper).

Me: Now Angel Jose is going to become the new little helper since he is starting to act like me when I was little. I remember how I use to go fishing with you and my cousins. When he grows up a little bit more I want to do the same with him and my dad so he can go through the same experiences I did.

Angel: Yes. That’s a great idea. Fishing has always been a great activity for people of all ages specially kids since they learn new skills and have the joy of actually catching a fish.

Me: I’m also going to try and get him involve in creating things just how I use to do. That’s why you also call me “El invertor” o “Cientifico Loko” because I was always inventing or messing with some.

Angel: You always open something up to try and make something different from it or joint it with some different object. How are your mom and dad?

Me: Their doing well. Dad got fire from his work a couple of months ago but was able to get a job but its still not the same. Mom is doing well but she still has the occasional fight with my sister because of school.

Angel: Right she was always fighting with Paola to study. How is Paola?

Me: Well she isn’t doing any good in school right now but we are working on it. Also she is actually getting more mature about her friends and her family.

Angel: That’s good to know my little helper. I wish we had more time to talk but I have to go now. God bless you.

Me: I wish we had more time too. I love and miss you grandpa.

Angel: Always remember to take really good care of your mom and dad. Also of your sister and that little guy Angel Jose.

Me: I promised to take care of them always. Bye.

Angel: Take care.

A conversation with Walt Disney

Walt Disney was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international, and philanthropist, well-known for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. He and his staff created some of the world's most well-known fictional characters including Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney died of lung cancer in 1966.

Nora: Walt Disney! Is it really you?

Walt Disney: Yes. Live in the flesh.. well not alive in the flesh, but you get what I mean.

Nora: I do and I guess you're still 'alive' when you've won so many Academy Awards!

Walt Disney: After changing the way we see animation forever it is impossible to exclude my awards.

Nora: Your Oscar for Snow White with seven small Oscars is adorable and well deserved.

Walt Disney: I found it lovely.

Nora: And a special occasion, I haven't seen another custom made Academy Award.

Walt Disney: The pleasure I got from Snow White was not the award, accomplishing the first hand drawn animated feature film and knowing people would continue to make more animated films was more than enough.

Nora: It's such a shame you died of cancer.

Walt Disney: Sadly, some things are just inevitable.

Nora: And now some negligent people believe your body is kept frozen in the bottom of Cinderella's castle in Disney Land while you were cremated which logically is the exact opposite.

Walt Disney: People these days, it irritates me.

Nora: Yeah, we're in desperate need for a change world wide.

Walt Disney: One of the only ways to achieve that is through animation, the good kind of animation not the one filled with subliminal messages.

Nora: Certainly. Animation is a tool that should be used to better society, not manipulate it.

Walt Disney: I'm glad you think that way. I must be going dear.

Nora: Wait. I just want to say that your simulations of motion with inanimate objects are breathtaking.

Walt Disney: Thank you, the only thing I hope people remember is that it all began with a mouse.
Juan Pérez was my grandfather, he died in 1983 due to heart failure. He was diagnosed with polio at the age of five and was one of the first cases of polio in the island. He had to live on the rest of his life in crotches and a wheelchair and yet that didn't stop him, I consider him one of my heroes because he never gave up.

Me: Hi grandpa, I'm really exited to meet you, I have so many questions for you.
Grandpa: Hello there, ask away my dear I will answer anything you ask me.
Me: Ok, first of all how did you realize you had polio.
Grandpa: I realized I had polio when I was five, I was running around playing, then I noticed my legs hurt. That's when my parents decided to take me the doctor which later on diagnosed me with polio.
Me: What happened then?
Grandpa: I spent two years in and out of the hospital, since I was one of the first cases of polio the doctors didn't know how to treat my condition. I ended up using crotches, at first I thought it was because of negligence of the doctor but later I realized it was inevitable due to the fact that it was not certain how to treat this condition.
Me: So, how did grandma come into your life?
Grandpa: We both studied in the same university so yeah it started there.
Me: Is it true that grandma's dad didn't approve of your relationship?
Grandpa: Yes, he was so against us being together he didn't assist the wedding, he didn't want Maria to have a hard time in life because of me, he was trying to be a good paternal figure.
Me: But you proved him wrong didnt you?
Grandpa: You could say something like that, I got to make my own company, was asked by the people to be the mayor of Toa Baja and I got to have a beautiful family with my wife.
Me: There's a line grandma says all the time, I can't remember what it was but she said it was your line, what was it?
Grandpa: It's "No hay liciados de cuerpo solo liciados de espiritu", I used to say it all the time.
Me: That's phenomenal, it's been great talking to you grandpa.
Grandpa: It was my pleasure.

A Conversation with Paul the Apostle

Héctor: Good evening, Saul, is it? It's a pleasure to have the opportunity to speak with you, who I consider to be a nearly fatherly figure.

Paul: Good evening, and, before meeting with the Lord I was known as Saul, but I am now called Paul.

Héctor: Oh, I'm sorry, I don't see how I could have forgotten such an important thing. How silly of me!

Paul: No worries my child, remember, there is only one who is perfect, although that shouldn't keep us from striving to become perfect!

Héctor: Very true! And, that is, in a way, what we're here to talk about... Well, to start off, could you explain in a nutshell what it is that you've preached to so many thousands across the ages?

Paul: In a nutshell? Well, I suppose I would have to say that I preach of Eternal Life through Christ, who died in our place for our sins and came back victorious over death and bought us a place in Heaven for all who in Him believe.

Héctor: Wow, and, do you truly believe that? That a man could carry our sins and come back from the dead?

Paul: Yes, I do. But it was no mere man, He was the Son of God and God himself.

Héctor: God himself... so, that is the reason why he could make miracles?

Paul: Well, yes and no. He was God made unto man, but he also gave authority to those he sent, so that they too could do miraculous things in his name, and later, when he rose to Heaven, He gave us the Holy Spirit, that is always with us.

Héctor: Whoa... that's quite a bit to take in at once. You also mentioned he bought us a place in Heaven... how much would that cost for us mortals?

Paul: Cost? nothing. The gift of salvation is free, although it isn't cheap. The thing is that He bought us a place in Heaven, but He isn't reselling, He's giving them to His beloved children, that is, those who accept Him into their hearts and repent their for their sins.

Héctor: Really? But... wait... sins?

Paul: Yes, sins.

Héctor: And, just, what could we say is sin? not using butter on your bread?

Paul: Heh, no, not using butter on your bread is not sin, though it could be rather sad. No, sin is something more. Sin is what we call anything that does not please our God.

Héctor: Right. So, anything that doesn't please God... is there a list?

Paul: A list? Well, actually there is, it's called the Ten Commandments, but when He came to us he told us a rule that would make it easier for us. First, we must love God above all else, and then, we must love our neighbors, and not just the nice ones, our enemies too.

Héctor: I understand loving God and our neighbors but... love our ENEMIES???

Paul: Yes. If we love God, and our neighbors, then we will follow his commandments because, obviously, you won't killed your loved ones or tell lies regarding them, no matter how minuscule they may seem, also, we won't betray the love of our Lord.

Héctor: Yes... But why our enemies? Do you expect me to love someone who's harm me? Who'd do that?

Paul: Jesus did so, as I've tried to do. If you love your enemies then you show them just how big God is. That not even in the face of death, we'd abandon His love.

Héctor: I see... It's not exactly easy, is it?

Paul: No one ever said it would, but there is one thing I can assure you: If you give your life to Him, He'll never leave you alone. He'll be there regardless of the situation. He'll give you direction, and strengthen you so that you may march on through the storms of life. You may get battered, but ask anyone who's really walked under his wings, He is there.

Héctor: Wow... I must say I'm amazed... well... suppose I wanted to... uhm... you know... give my life to Him... what do I have to do?

Paul: Let Him into your heart. Simply believe in truth of Heart that He died for you in atonement for your sins, your mistakes, and that He came back from the dead to reclaim your soul from Death, that he has a place for you in Heaven.

Héctor: Believe? That's it?

Paul: Yes, believe, but not just how you believe that one plus one is two, you have to trust in him, that He is the one road to Eternal Life.

Héctor: ... Well... I do... I choose to believe in Him... I give Him my heart!

Paul: Then I am more that joyous to welcome you as one of His children!

Héctor: And... what now?

Paul: Now you should find someplace to congregate. Be on the lookout for His voice, and know that no matter what happens, He will be there for you comforting and supporting you.

Héctor: Very well... Thank you! Thank God!

Paul: Thank God indeed! Well, it seems I must take my leave now. I shall be waiting for you
when you go see your mansion in Heaven!

Héctor: Goodbye Paul! Godspeed!... wow... Thank you Lord...

Life in the future

The movie Bicentennial Man, based on the novel from 1976 shows the 21st century consists of robot servants, high technology hospitals, ect. The misconception we have of the future is immense. If I were given the chance to travel to another era, I would choose the future, just to see how much time it will take us to achieve the future we seek. I find it would be very funny to see how many times the human fails at their desired future.

The McFly way to go

I would love to go back in time in my own DeLorean as Marty McFly did in "back to the Future". Just think about going to any moment in time, I'd go to the 80's without giving it a second thought. It would be awesome because they didn't have a certain style, people would wear whatever they wanted cause nobody cared a rats bottom, people could express themselves freely. Also another reason why I'd go to the 80's is to see how my parents were in their cool years, how they acted and to see if they were nagged by their parents by the same things they nagg me on. Finally I would go with a whole bunch of gadgets and advanced technology to see how people would react to my iPhone and laptop.

I love the 80's

If I were to time travel by using a Tardis I would go to the 80's. To me one of the best decades of music was the 80's. Also I really like the fashion from that time including the neon colors, the strange hairdos and the awesome sneakers. I hope that if I did go back that my life would be like one of the many 80's movies that exist like for example The BreakFast Club. All of those movies even if a bit unrealistic still give an cool view of that era including the music, fashion and society in general.

Move Along

I was asked to write about my favorite song, the first one that popped to my head was “Move Along” by The All-American Rejects. The song talks about how you should always be positive. No matter what situation you are going through you have to get up and keep moving foward. In the chorus specifically it says "And even when your hope is gone move along, move along just to make it through" which means that even though it seems hopeless just keep going until the end. It is a very moving song (no pun intended) as it says no matter how bad it seems, things can get better if you don't give up.
This song made me open my mind and realize that we all should just move along and not only that but help your peers along the way. To me it feels as if the singer (Tyson Ritter) is singing to a friend and telling him that he is strong. When he says "your hands are mine to hold, speak to me" to me it feels as if he is saying "you can lean on me, I'll be right by your side and you can trust me with everything and anything". It's not only an inspirational song but also a friendship song as it shows that true friends will do anything for each other.

My favorite song...

My favorite song has for some time now been Behind Closed Doors, by Rise Against. This band is, as it is, of revolutionary tendencies, and, since I love the messages given although sometimes crudely, I realize that I have a very deep rooted desire for revolution, although not in the sense of civil war as much as the radical changes it involves.
This song speaks about how the author will not remain behind closed doors, that he will break out, that despite having no obligation to fight, he refuses to give in, to give up... I relate this to how many people are feeling trapped and oppressed by today's society, trapped in the routine, in the need to survive and not thrive... and so as far as I can see, this song is a call to break out of routine, to fight to do more than just surviving, a call to LIVE, even if it means breaking through obstacles in order to do so...

Here are the lyrics to Behind Closed Doors:

Chairs thrown and tables toppled,
Hands armed with broken bottles,
Standing no chance to win but,
We're not running, we're not running.

There's a point I think we're missing,
It's in the air we raise our fists in,
In the smiles we cast each other,
My sister, my brother.

About the time we gave up hoping
We'd ever find these locks still open,
Stumbling on stones unturned,
The hurt we feel, we all have earned.

The lines we cross in search of change,
But all they see is treason.

Although we have no obligation to stay alive
On broken backs we beg for mercy, we will survive
(Break out) I won't be left here
Behind closed doors.

Bonfires burn like beacons,
Guiding the lost and weakened.
Flames dance on crashing waves,
Guiding ships who've gone astray

Time out, let's stop and think this through,
We've all got better things to do,
Than talk in circles, run in place,
Answers {are} inches from our face.

Although we have no obligation to stay alive
On broken backs we beg for mercy, we will survive
(Break out) I won't be left here
Behind closed doors.

Black eyes, broken fingers,
Blood drips and I let it run
Down my lips into my swollen gums.
When hope is non-existent,
Our instincts all scream "Run",
We never turn our backs or even bite our tongues.

Although we have no obligation to stay alive
On broken backs we beg for mercy, we will survive
(Break out) I won't be left here
Behind closed doors.

If I Were a Girl...

Waking up to see that I have been turn into a girl would be a shock at first. After thinking a little I would come to the conclusion that I have to take this opportunity and make the best of it and try to experience what it feels to be a woman from all aspects. It would be curious to experience how men treat women, see how girls actually treat and feel between them and finally I would see how much power my looks grant me.

If I were a boy - Introduction

In the 21st century gentlemen are almost impossible to find. If I had to be a boy for, I would do my best to be a gentlemen. If the way girls see boys changes then numerous problems could be evaded, changing society for the better. Violence and divorce rates would go down as well. Society depends on the relationship between boys and girls.

If I were a boy...

If I were to wake up one morning and find out I turned into a boy I would probably cry my eyes out (which wouldn't seem very masculine) like their is no tomorrow. After I'm done crying like a baby I'd have to figure out how to change my ways so I could fit the "guy" image. I'd have to find a way to be accepted by society as a guy, which include being less flamboyant, not expressing my feelings as much and be expected to give women a certain or more amount of respect.

Just Me

Hi my name is Norman S. Morales Suarez. I'm currently coursing my
senior at University Gardens. I consider myself a geek and I’m proud to be one. A geek is someone who is consider a computer expert or enthusiast. According to urban dictionary a geek is that guy you pick on in high school and then wind up working for as an adult which I find funny just ask Bill Gates old classmates. I enjoy wasting hours reading about new tech on
the Internet and messing with my computer in general. If someone needs
help with their laptop, camera, iPod or anything tech related I'm the
guy they will call. One fact I think people wouldn’t believe about me is that I like to exercise, just because people are always making stereotypes that geeks hate any form of exercise but I guess I’m the exception to that rule.

I’m a very patient and calm person. Well I have to be; working with slow computers will drive anyone crazy if they don’t have patience. When I’m not at the computer I like to spend time with my family and friends because they are the ones that will always be there to care for me or at least until they make humanoids. ;)

Hello World!

Well, My name is Héctor Villaveitía, and, this here is my first blog entry ever! I should say something about myself so, here it goes: I love art in most of it's forms, and enjoy everything from a good doodle on the corner of a notebook to a masterful composition by Mozart. I am in favor of video games being considered a form of art, I play the guitar (a little) and sing (also a little). I'm also a people person. I love my friends and love getting to know them, so, needless to say, there are very little things that I would rather do over spending an entire day with my closest friends (maybe spending an entire week week with them!). I'm easy to befriend but not that easy to get to know, since I'm a bit protective... I guess it's obvious from me saying that I love art in every form, but I still want to say that I love reading a good story (or listening to it, if it's a podcast) and hearing a good poem. I also try to write every now and then but I'm never really satisfied with my work.
That makes, I think, a very summed up list of my likes, as for dislikes, I guess I could just say bad people. I dislike hypocrites and backstabbers, and I dislike the social problems that curse today's society in so many ways, and most of all, I dislike the fact that most people don't care that our world is crumbling before our eyes.
I just want to finish saying that I'm a firm believer in God, and that though him I seek all the answers to my everyday problems, that, and that I firmly believe that a grain of sand is not enough, so I'll try to bring a bucket.

This is me

Ok so my name is Cristina, but many call me Tina. People consider me an innocent, funny and sarcastic person. I'm a senior in University Gardens Highschool although I hate science and I seriously doubt my mathematical skills. I know that my grades can improve if I work hard at it but the sad truth is that I'm a real lazy person.

I have a car, but it's been in the mechanic for 3 weeks and counting. Keeping up with that amazing luck of mine I've spent an amazing birthday (which is today by the way) filled with winds, natural disasters and homework. But it's all good because my parents took me to the mall which I love, to look at pretty clothes that as usual wasn't in my size. But even though I dont have the best luck in the world, I do have friends and family members who I love more than anything in the world.

About me.

So, my name is Nora, I'm a 16 year old senior at University Gardens High School. I am friendly and I am easily irritated. My friends are a big part of my life and I am a better person because of them. Some of my hobbies include juggling through extra curricular activities, drawing and animating. My favorite gadgets are my iTouch, my phone, my laptop, my eReader and my light box. These help me feel better every day.

I am not ordinary, I am an artist. What am I doing in University Gardens? I ask my self this question every time I get a C in math. Before the ninth grade I thought I loved academics because no one encouraged me to pursue art. This past summer I encouraged myself by going to pre-college for Animation and I explored my true aspirations and goals. Art is creating, and creating is the key to changing our thoughts and to changing Puerto Rico's future for the better.
